This award funds research to study the roles of GATA transcription factors in endometriosis using human samples and mouse models, aiming to improve understanding and develop new treatments for the disease.

Description

Endometriosis is an understudied and underfunded complex disease that significantly contributes to infertility and pelvic pain in women. Available treatments are limited because the molecular mechanisms of endometriosis are not well understood. Using clinically relevant human samples, and cellular and mouse models, the project aims to study the roles of GATA transcription factors in endometriosis to improve understanding of the disease and develop novel therapeutics.
