Description
This project aims to develop and validate brief caregiver-specific measures to better understand non-traditional care partners (e.g., step-kin, non-marital romantic partners, siblings, personal communities) of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). The research will include creating new computer adaptive tests (CATs) and validating existing measures through data collection from semi-structured interviews and large diverse samples. The goal is to characterize these non-traditional care partners and compare their experiences to traditional care partners, ultimately improving support and outcomes.
