A research project funded by the National Institute on Aging to study inflammation in Alzheimer's disease using PET imaging and immune profiling, aiming to improve diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Description
This project aims to investigate the role of inflammation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) through a whole-body approach using PET imaging and immune profiling techniques. The study will characterize peripheral and central myeloid cell responses, develop a clinical method to quantify TSPO-PET uptake, and analyze immune signatures related to disease severity in AD and mild cognitive impairment patients.
