A randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy of a dyadic CBT-I intervention for improving sleep and psychological outcomes in persons living with dementia and their caregivers.

Description

This project tests the efficacy of a 5-week, 60-minute Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) intervention called REPAIR Sleep, delivered via videoconferencing to dyads of persons living with dementia and their caregivers. The randomized controlled trial will compare REPAIR Sleep to an attention control intervention, Healthy Living, assessing sleep and psychological outcomes immediately and at 6 months. The study aims to improve sleep disturbances prevalent among persons living with cognitive impairment and their caregivers, addressing a critical public health need.
