This award funds the development and evaluation of AI-based radiotherapy planning software to improve treatment quality and affordability for cervical and head and neck cancers in lower-income countries.

Description

The project aims to enhance the effectiveness and affordability of radiotherapy treatment in lower-income settings, focusing on cervical and head and neck cancers. It involves developing AI-based software to automate key components of radiotherapy planning, including delineation of anatomical areas at risk and defining the position, size, and shape of radiation beams. The study will evaluate the quality and economic impact of AI-automated radiotherapy in six public sector cancer hospitals across India, Jordan, Malaysia, and South Africa.
