The award funds the evaluation of a novel electrosurgical catheter device designed to improve treatment for acute aortic dissection by facilitating better endograft landing zones, aiming to increase patient eligibility and improve outcomes.
Description
This project aims to evaluate a novel device, the CutCath Dissection Septum Catheter (DSCC), which facilitates effective landing zones for endovascular repair, potentially increasing patient eligibility and success rates. The DSCC uses radiofrequency to fenestrate the dissection septum, enabling better graft apposition and reducing complications. The project includes determining safety and efficacy of DSCC in dividing dissection flaps, assessing short-term safety and efficiency within 30 days post-procedure, and planning for Phase II to evaluate long-term safety and efficacy.
