A project funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to increase prescribing and education of FDA-approved medications for alcohol use disorder in psychiatric settings through an implementation facilitation intervention in three clinics.

Description

This project aims to pilot test an implementation facilitation intervention to increase medication for alcohol use disorder (MAUD) education and prescribing for patients with major mental illness and comorbid alcohol use disorder in three psychiatry treatment clinics. The intervention includes clinic-level education, training on standardized AUD screening and documentation, audit and feedback systems, care coordination, and patient educational materials. The project will evaluate outcomes after a sustainment period.
