Description
The study aims to delineate how a unique constitutively active androgen receptor (AR) functions in endocrine therapy-resistant hormone receptor positive breast cancer, design more effective treatments, and expand targeted therapy options for AR-driven diseases. It explores SUMO post-translational modification of AR, identifies a druggable dual SUMO-ubiquitin ligase that destabilizes SUMO-AR, and investigates interactions between SUMO-AR and lncRNA in ligand-independent genomic activity. The project tests approaches to inhibit AR activity or promote AR degradation, generating novel therapeutics and evaluating clinically relevant compounds.
