Grant awarded to University of Pittsburgh by National Eye Institute to develop a computational platform for ophthalmology research using advanced data analysis and machine learning, including training components.

Description

The project aims to create an access point for modern computational analysis of integrated datasets related to ophthalmology. It involves generating and analyzing data from medical records, retinal and tissue imaging, physiological recordings, molecular data (metabolomics, microbiome, RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, single-cell/nuclei RNA- and ATAC-Seq, ChIP-Seq). The module connects data generators with experts in biostatistics, machine learning, and deep learning to accelerate research discovery and foster collaborations. Training activities for students and postdocs are also planned.
