Description

The cellular degradative process of autophagy is a major host defense pathway. This project investigates the physiological mechanisms by which autophagy alters defense against two significant bacterial pathogens, Salmonella enterica Typhimurium and Staphylococcus aureus. The research aims to elucidate how autophagy and pathogen sensing control exosome biogenesis and how the ATG16L1 T300A allele impacts susceptibility to infection.
