This award funds a research project to develop and test a multi-level intervention to increase physical activity among cancer survivors in Acres Homes, Houston, Texas, integrating community resources and behavioral strategies to improve survivors' quality of life and physical functioning.
Description
Physical activity has been shown to improve cancer survivors’ well-being and is associated with longer survival after cancer diagnosis. This project will test a program to help cancer survivors from Acres Homes increase their physical activity and access physical activity resources in their community. It will also identify how the survivors’ neighborhood environment affects their physical activity levels.
