This project aims to explore the effects of human disease through the use of a fly model to generate fly avatars of severe epileptic disease, specifically Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy (DEE). The research involves creating mutations to generate insights into epileptic mechanisms and constructing a CRISPR platform for recombinase-generated mosaics to explore tissue sensitivities. The ultimate goal is to understand these epilepsies better and develop targeted therapies.
