AMI employs smart meters, cellular communication networks, and data management systems to facilitate real-time data collection, thus enhancing customer service and enabling more efficient and accurate meter reading, billing, and other utility services. Director Torres approved the conversion of all existing commercial meters, as well as meters installed in new construction projects, to AMI. Therefore, this purchase request was initiated to convert all commercial meters to AMI. Due to compatibility constraints with existing equipment, this procurement is limited to a single supplier, as Neptune meters are not compatible with registers from other manufacturers. Converting existing meters is considered the most feasible.
