Description
The project aims to develop and validate cryopreservation technology that automates soaking, cooling, and warming. The technology will increase convective cooling and warming rates for small samples by a factor approaching 102 over current practice. The project includes the development of a robot-based platform for ultra-fast cooling/warming and high-throughput cryopreservation. Validation will be conducted through studies of bovine, porcine, and Drosophila embryos, tissue slices, and biobanking centers.
