The University of North Dakota (UND) College of Engineering and Mines is procuring an Ultrasonic Testing System designed for the evaluation of thermoset composites, specifically for wind turbine applications. The awarded equipment must be portable and lightweight, featuring a high-speed 1 channel C-scan with a redundant channel, supporting through Transmission mode and static or 2-D C-scan part imaging. It includes an imaging frame and motion control system with a travel range of 440 mm x 440 mm, high-quality control and analysis software, Research Studio post-processing software, and a Windows-based 4U PC with LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, and necessary cables. The system requires both non-contact ultrasonic transducers operating at 200 kHz and 500 kHz or higher, with matching inductance networks, and contact ultrasonic transducers with 200 kHz, 350 kHz, and 500 kHz capabilities with diplexer communication channels. Training for installation, commissioning, software orientation, and basic NCU education is included and may be provided in-person or remotely. The awarded vendor must provide a characterization and qualification report for the data. The delivery location is Upson I, Lab 100, 243 Centennial Drive, Grand Forks, North Dakota. The contract allows for additional goods or services post-award if mutually agreed upon.

Description

UND is seeking an Ultrasonic Testing System for Evaluation of Thermoset Composites. The system should be portable and lightweight with embedded high speed 1 channel C-scan with a redundant channel. It supports through Transmission mode and static or C-scan (2-D) part imaging. Includes imaging frame and motion control system with travel of 440 mm x 440 mm. Comes with high quality control/analysis software and Research Studio post processing software, including a Windows based 4U PC with LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, and cables. Training provided for installation, commissioning, software orientation, and basic NCU education. Includes non-contact ultrasonic transducer at 200kHz and 500kHz or higher for inspection of thermoset composites, with matching Inductance Network (MID) and data characterization and qualification report. Also includes contact ultrasonic transducer with 200 kHz, 350 kHz, and 500 kHz capabilities with diplexer communications channel. Additional goods/services may be requested after contract award.
