The award supports research to understand and treat peri-implantitis by mapping vascular dysfunction and testing therapies targeting endothelial cells using advanced spatial and molecular techniques.

Description

This project aims to develop targeted therapies to mitigate peri-implantitis by understanding vascular and immune interactions at a spatial level, leveraging advanced spatial transcriptomics and proteomics technologies. It will construct a spatially resolved, multimodal atlas of peri-implantitis vasculopathy and functionally assess CD38+ vascular endothelial cells isolated from peri-implantitis lesions to test pharmacologic interventions.
