Description
Gold-derived compounds modulate mitochondrial function and exhibit efficacious anticancer activity. Combining the unique structural and reactive features of gold compounds with mechanism-of-action studies provides a new platform for the discovery of mitochondria-targeted anticancer agents. This proposal seeks to expand potent gold chemotherapeutic libraries guided by functional biology to elucidate their mode of action and inhibit metastatic tumor in vivo, while sparing normal tissue.
