Description
This project focuses on the use of 6-thio-2'-deoxyguanosine (6-thio-dG), a purine analog pro-drug that induces telomerase-mediated cytotoxic DNA damage at telomeres, as a potential therapy for glioblastoma (GBM). The project aims to characterize the pre-clinical efficacy and biomarkers of 6-thio-dG alone or with Temozolomide (TMZ) in patient-derived models, test anti-tumor efficacy and inflammatory potential in murine models, and define cell toxicity and inflammatory potential in ex vivo glioma tissue and organoids. The goal is to inform clinical trial design and advance 6-thio-dG toward clinical application in GBM.
