Description
This project aims to explore the role of JAK/STAT signaling as a therapeutic target to mitigate long-term effects of acute organophosphate (OP) intoxication. It will use a rat model of diisopropylfluorophosphate (DFP) intoxication to define how STAT3-driven neuroinflammation promotes epileptogenesis and impairs memory. The study will test whether adding the FDA-approved JAK1/2 inhibitor ruxolitinib to standard care can reduce seizures and cognitive deficits, potentially establishing STAT3 as a key driver of neurotoxicity and supporting ruxolitinib as a translatable therapy.
