NIH-funded research project investigating the role of ALDH2 enzyme in reducing lung fibrosis in ARDS through cell and animal models and human tissue studies, aiming to develop new therapies.

Description

This project aims to understand the role of the enzyme ALDH2 in the development and resolution of Fibroproliferative ARDS (FP-ARDS). The research will explore mechanisms by which ALDH2 inhibits lung fibrogenesis using cell culture models and genetically modified mice. The study will also test pharmacologic activation of ALDH2 in human lung tissue slices to evaluate potential therapeutic benefits.
