Description
The proposed research focuses on the potential of an anti-interleukin-6 trans-signaling strategy to treat malignant ventricular arrhythmias while preserving the beneficial anti-inflammatory classical interleukin-6 arm. The project aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which IL-6 signaling triggers electrical changes and to evaluate the anti-IL-6 signaling efficacy in vivo using a guinea pig high-fat diet-induced inflammation model. The research tests the effects of IL-6 signaling inhibition on arrhythmias and identifies mechanisms of arrhythmogenesis.
