Description

This project will investigate the fundamental mechanisms that allow the newborn brain to maintain stable blood flow, focusing on the role of the TrpC6 ion channel and how it is disrupted by chronic perinatal hypoxia. By identifying how hypoxia and associated epigenetic regulators like microRNA-210 impair cerebral autoregulation, this research aims to develop new therapeutic strategies to protect the developing brain in vulnerable infants and improve lifelong neurological outcomes.
