NIH grant awarded to Villanova University to develop targeted siRNA delivery systems using polymeric nanoparticles and hydrogels to reduce ischemia reperfusion injury in kidney transplants by silencing key inflammatory molecules in endothelial cells.
Description
This project aims to develop a multi-faceted therapeutic strategy to reduce ischemia reperfusion injury related damage to the endothelium of transplanted kidneys by delivering siRNA using polymeric nanoparticles to endothelial cells to prevent inflammatory damage and fibrosis.
