NIH awarded a grant to University of California, San Francisco to develop and optimize novel nSMase2 inhibitors as a therapeutic strategy to enhance antitumor immune responses and overcome resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer therapy.
Description
This NIH grant project aims to synthesize and test analogs of a novel nSMase2 inhibitor to improve pharmacokinetics and efficacy, evaluate these in mouse and human cancer models, and develop prodrugs with good oral bioavailability and safety profiles to promote antitumor immunity and overcome resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer treatment.
