This project investigates the role of 25-hydroxycholesterol synthesized by microglia in mediating neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease using the P301S tau transgenic mouse model. The research aims to understand the mechanisms by which 25HC influences tau-dependent neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration and to develop novel therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
