NIH funded project to develop novel therapeutic strategies targeting dopamine D4 receptor to prevent liver metastasis in colon cancer patients.
Description
This project aims to investigate the mechanisms and efficacy of dopamine D4 receptor (DRD4) agonists, alone or combined with anti-cancer drugs, to prevent or reduce liver metastasis in colon cancer. The hypothesis is that DRD4-mediated therapy can inhibit the VEGF-C/FLT4 axis, a major driver of liver metastasis, thereby preventing metastasis.
