Research project studying suicide risk factors in autistic adults, focusing on social adversity and trauma, aiming to identify intervention targets.

Description

This project will fill a void in research on autistic adults and their heightened risk for suicide. Using a community-engaged approach, we will test the impact of chronic exposure to traumatic events and social adversity in relation to suicide risk among autistic adults. We will generate new mechanistic targets for future suicide prevention and intervention efforts that aim to reduce premature mortality for autistic adults.
