The PRO-CEL Core supports MSK investigators in capturing self-reported data from diverse populations, providing expertise in survey tools, qualitative research, and community engagement to enhance cancer research outcomes.
Description
The Patient-Reported Outcomes, Community Engagement, and Language (PRO-CEL) Core enhances the objectives of the Center's research programs by supporting MSK investigators in capturing self-reported information from culturally varied patients, caregivers, clinical staff, and community members. The faculty of the PRO-CEL Core are nationally recognized social and behavioral scientists and community outreach experts providing technical assistance throughout research stages, including grant and protocol development, staff training, and dissemination. The core aims to provide research consultation and training in PRO survey tools and measures for stakeholders, assist in qualitative research design, implementation, and analysis, support incorporation of PRO, qualitative, and community outreach methods into funding applications, and offer methodological support for clinical, behavioral, and population-based research involving community or understudied populations. The services have supported 123 MSK investigators and contributed to 898 peer-reviewed publications in the past year.
