This NIH-funded study investigates a dietary intervention to reduce fatigue and improve muscle and physical function in older adults suffering from post-acute COVID-19 syndrome, using a whole-diet approach with anti-inflammatory nutrients.

Description

A 16-week randomized-controlled dietary intervention based on the 'Whole-Diet Approach' aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA 2020-2025), focusing on nutrients with anti-inflammatory properties such as vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and whey protein. The study aims to assess the impact of this dietary intervention on fatigue, muscle mass, strength, and physical function, and to explore underlying mechanisms via biomarkers in older adults with post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS).
