This NIH-funded project studies the effects of developmental pyrethroid pesticide exposure on autism risk using prairie voles to assess behavioral and molecular outcomes.
Description
Developmental exposure to pyrethroid pesticides has been implicated in risk for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. This project proposes to use the prairie vole, a wild rodent with complex social behaviors, to test dose-dependent effects of pyrethroid exposure during development on behaviors and molecular functions in the brain.
