A quasi-experimental evaluation of Medicare Advantage enrollment on dialysis care and outcomes

The project aims to evaluate the impact of Medicare Advantage enrollment on prescription drug use, acute care utilization, and dialysis care for patients with end-stage kidney disease using quasi-experimental methods. It will also identify factors influencing plan selection behavior to inform Medicare policy and improve care delivery.

Description

This project will generate real-world evidence on the impact of Medicare Advantage enrollment on access to medications, acute care utilization, and dialysis outcomes, and will investigate patient and regional factors associated with Medicare Advantage enrollment to better understand plan selection behavior. Findings will inform Medicare policy and support improvements in care delivery for patients with kidney disease.
