Award to Baylor College of Medicine for a video-based intervention to improve HIV treatment adherence and retention among adolescents, aiming to increase viral suppression and inform adolescent HIV programs in the US and globally.
Description
This study will evaluate a scalable, cost-effective video-based behavioral intervention designed to improve adherence, retention in care, and viral suppression among adolescents living with HIV. The intervention aims to improve retention and adherence (viral load <1000 copies/ml) in a multisite cluster randomized controlled trial in Malawi, with an expected 10% increase in viral suppression in the intervention arm. The study will also assess implementation, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness, and project health outcomes and value for money of the intervention.
