Description

The Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement (ORE) Core serves as the liaison between the Wake Forest Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) and the community. Its primary mission is to recruit and retain participants for ADRC research, including clinical trials focused on early detection and risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). The core builds on established community partnerships, supporting the enrollment of over 860 participants and 562 referrals. The ORE Core collaborates with various ADRC components to enhance recruitment, retention, and community engagement. It aims to expand participant registries, establish community advisory boards, and develop educational resources on cognitive decline and risk reduction. Key objectives include improving recruitment efficiency for clinical trials, developing community partnerships and wellness screening programs, providing education on early signs of cognitive decline and risk factors, and sharing evidence-based recruitment and retention strategies nationally. The project emphasizes community-based participatory research, leveraging multimedia and social media tools, and fostering collaborations to accelerate ADRC research.
