Development of an interactive simulation product using 3D printing to improve pressure injury diagnosis and treatment for patients with darkly pigmented skin, aiming to reduce healthcare disparities.

Description

The project aims to create a high-fidelity, interactive Pressure Injury (PI) simulation product to address assessment and treatment disparities in patients with darkly pigmented skin. The technology will leverage recent advances in 3D Anatomy Printing to allow for adjustable skin tones and representations of all stages of PI wounds. The goal is to enable students and healthcare providers to learn how to identify early signs of PIs on darkly pigmented skin without visual cues, thereby reducing disparities and improving patient outcomes.
