Description
This project aims to develop and test a fully-autonomous (no-human operator) CBT-based digital therapeutic for comorbid opioid use disorder (OUD) and internalizing (anxiety and depression) disorders that targets compulsive opioid use motivated by relief of unpleasant emotions. The project involves modifying an existing digital therapeutic and testing it in a clinical trial. The goal is to provide a scalable, inexpensive intervention based on a neuro-behavioral model of addiction, leveraging digital platforms to deliver cognitive-behavioral therapy (VC-CBT) to improve treatment outcomes for individuals with OUD and co-occurring internalizing disorders.
