Description

This project focuses on understanding how Down syndrome (trisomy 21) affects human brain development, particularly cortical development and neural plasticity. The research aims to build models based on human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to investigate developmental disruptions caused by T21. The study will establish a cellular, synaptic, and molecular atlas of the prenatal cortex in Down syndrome, integrating molecular signatures with cellular changes both in vivo and in vitro. The goal is to elucidate molecular pathways disrupted by T21 that lead to cognitive impairments.
