Research project funded by NIEHS to study genetic and epigenetic effects of lead exposure on neurobehavioral diseases across life stages and generations.
Description
This project aims to investigate the transcriptomic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying lead-induced neurobehavioral diseases across different life stages and generations. Early-life lead exposures result in pervasive effects on cognition and behavior that can persist across the lifespan and generations. The project seeks to delineate how developmental lead exposure causes genetic and epigenetic changes leading to adverse neurological health outcomes and transmits this public health issue over several generations.
