Description
This project investigates the genetic interactions between DDX41 and CUX1 mutations in hematopoietic dysfunction and leukemia development, utilizing zebrafish models and human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to elucidate mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. The goal is to delineate how DDX41 and a common secondary mutation in CUX1 cooperate to drive hematopoietic dysfunction, which is important for understanding myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) pathogenesis and developing novel diagnostics or therapies.
