Perform the duties of the Medical Director for the Santa Barbara County EMS Agency as provided for and required in the EMS Act (California Health and Safety Code Division 2.5). Provide medical direction for the Santa Barbara County Emergency Medical Services system, which may require field treatment and supervision as determined by the EMS Administrator. Evaluate and approve, as applicable, EMS pre-hospital service providers, base hospitals, receiving hospitals, and specialty care centers.
