Description
This project aims to study the clonal evolution of HPV-integrated tumor cells in HPV+ oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) using liquid biopsy technology. The research will evaluate genetic mechanisms by which HPV integration impacts fusion gene formation and drives tumor heterogeneity. The study will develop and optimize assays for detecting HPV-host integration events, identify driver events associated with disease progression, and analyze viral-host fusion transcript structures linked to oncogenic phenotypes.
