NIH-supported project to develop and apply fluid and MRI biomarker capabilities for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including biomarker validation and research focused on rural New Mexico populations.

### Description

The Biomarker (Fluid) Core uses fluid- and MRI-based biomarkers to classify Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias by vascular and neurodegenerative contributions. The project establishes sample collection, biobanking, and biomarker analysis infrastructure; validates plasma biomarkers; and supports research on ADRD risk, prevalence, and prognosis, especially among medically underrepresented rural populations in New Mexico.
