Description

This project aims to understand the innate immune responses of human airway macrophages to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). It focuses on the role of Type I Interferon (IFN) pathways in TB progression and how early airway macrophage IFN responses influence initial infection outcomes. The study involves characterizing transcriptomic and epigenetic landscapes of airway macrophages using scRNA-seq and ATAC-seq, and establishing a cohort to examine associations between macrophage clusters and IGRA positivity following Mtb exposure.
