Description
This study will examine neurodevelopment in a unique longitudinal cohort of children with HIV exposure but uninfected (HEU) versus HIV unexposed uninfected (HUU) in sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on mechanisms including alterations in the gut microbiome and breastmilk composition. The project aims to compare neurodevelopmental outcomes and examine relations with infant gut microbiome diversity and breastmilk human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) to inform future clinical trials and interventions.
