The VA San Diego Healthcare System project will evaluate whether SleepSMART, an adapted insomnia therapy for people with cognitive impairment, is effective and acceptable for older Veterans with insomnia and mild cognitive impairment.
Description
A randomized controlled trial comparing Sleep Symptom Management and Rehabilitation Therapy (SleepSMART) with standard Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) in Veterans aged 60 or older with insomnia and mild cognitive impairment. The study will assess insomnia symptoms, cognitive and daily functioning, disability, quality of life, and treatment acceptability and adherence.
