Description

This project aims to study cellular mechanisms driving cancer risk and evaluate whether imatinib, a drug used for chronic leukemia, can prevent or delay blood cancer development in individuals with a germline mutation in the gene RUNX1 causing Familial Platelet Disorder. The study investigates the role of RUNX1 mutations in DNA damage repair pathways, clonal hematopoiesis, and hematologic malignancies, and assesses the efficacy of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in preventing disease onset.
