This NIH-funded project develops a computational model to study hippocampal vulnerability in Alzheimer's disease, aiming to simulate network disconnection and support therapeutic development.

Description

The project aims to develop a multiscale computational model (HGEA-NET) of the hippocampus to understand how neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease (AD) leads to cognitive decline. Building on the Hippocampus Gene Expression Atlas (HGEA), the team will incorporate spatial transcriptomics and connectomics data from human AD patients and mouse models to identify susceptible neurons and simulate network disconnection.
