The award funds research to develop clinical prediction models and understand biological mechanisms in non-ARDS acute hypoxemic respiratory failure using machine learning and epigenetics, supporting personalized treatment approaches.

Description

This project aims to develop clinical prediction models for mortality in adults with non-acute respiratory distress syndrome acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (NAHRF). It will apply machine learning to detect subphenotypes of NAHRF associated with different clinical outcomes and use sequencing-based whole methylome data to understand biological mechanisms. The research supports advancing personalized, phenotype-driven management of NAHRF.
