Award for research on the impact of maternal nutrition on infant DNA methylation and growth in low resource settings, using data from a multi-country randomized controlled trial.

Description

This project tests if growth stunting and maternal nutritional status impact the epigenome of infants at birth and 3 months, and assesses if the epigenome influences infant growth in the first 2 years of life. It leverages a completed randomized controlled trial in mother-infant dyads from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guatemala, India, and Pakistan, involving three treatment arms with different maternal nutritional supplements.
