Research project funded by NIH to identify molecular biomarkers for episodic memory dysfunction in Temporal Lobe Epilepsy through molecular profiling of gene and protein expression.

Description

This project aims to understand alterations of gene and protein expression in the temporal lobe that may contribute to memory dysfunction in Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) and to identify biomarkers to stratify patients at high risk for memory impairment. The research involves deep molecular profiling of patients with language-dominant MTLE-HS, focusing on regional and cell-type-specific differences in transcript and protein expression, as well as peripheral blood biomarkers.
