A research project funded by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute to study how mindfulness training can prevent hypertensive disorders during pregnancy using advanced monitoring technologies in a randomized controlled trial.
Description
This project aims to leverage ecological momentary assessment, wearable biosensor, and electronically activated recorder technology to understand how prenatal mindfulness training reduces risk for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. It involves a randomized controlled trial with 8-week phone-delivered mindfulness intervention versus usual care, measuring 24-hour blood pressure, uterine artery resistance, EMA, ambient audio sampling, and wearable biosensors in 150 pregnant women at risk for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
